地震 and Japan

Japanese earthquake has not shaken Japan alone but the whole world. Japanese mainland has drifted off by 2.4 meters and the Earth's axis is tilted further by 10cm. Food and fuel are short in supply. Power outages are being done to manage the power crisis. The aftermath of earthquake and tsunami are horrifying and seems to be unmangeable. Nuclear explosions one after the other is the cause of fear. Higher radiation level is the greatest nuclear concern for Japan and its neighbour Russia.

The most prepared nation Japan was taken by surprise by earthquake measuring 8.9 on rictor scale. The rolling Tsunami has wiped out many parts of Eastern Japan. The second strongest economy of the world is going down. None of the super powers were expecting this to happen. It is an indication that nature is still the Supreme power and we can only watch its fury being unfolded.

If you think that its all over for Japan, then Mr.Toshiro Tanimoto asks you to think again. In his article for CNN , he writes:

I grew up in this country, but I am still amazed at the people's patience and civility. But I also know how they can remain so civil. They trust that food will come somehow. They trust the government and know their share will come. They have faith.
He also points out that how people in Japan are courageous and help their fellow men.
Most people seem to agree and are willing to share their burden. They trust that it's for the best.
Prime Minister Naoto Kan said this was the worst crisis since World War II. But this country built the world's second-strongest economy in 40 years, starting from ashes. The ashes along the Fukushima coast might contain more radiation now. But I know this country can do it again. Dedicated people are focused on it.
I love his last line and pray for his country's people.

"Don't bet against Japan-- trust it will prevail"
