Exam fever
Students caught inbetween IPL and exam season reminds me of one of my exam nightmares. Eventhough there are many.. this one is special as I always say, situation turned in my favour. (Over நினைப்பு தான் !!).
Being the daughter of a banker who gets transferred every 3 to 4 years , I have studied in 8 schools. Studying in different schools has its own plus and minus... ok ok .. I won't lecture you on that by the way one major minus was that you have to build your image of a good student from scratch with every new school because teachers usually go by word of mouth from previous year teachers and determine their 'Gems' for the next academic year.
So being or acting like a good student forms a protective cover and that will give you 100% scoldings proof protection.
Quarterly Exams were about to begin. The class teacher dictated the exam time table and asked us to prepare well. I was new to the school, it was my testing time once again. First exam was English.. I didn't worry much and did my exam well. I hate to discuss the exam papers and went home early after it was done.
Now, I have to prepare for my next exam...'Maths' ... I worked hard and got ready next morning to prove myself and didn't speak to any of my friends that evening. No distractions please. I went to school ontime as I didn't want the exam tension to get over me. I was sitting at my desk expecting the whole class to be tensed.. to my surprise everyone was cool. Supervisor came in and gave the question paper. I closed my eyes for a second and then read the question paper. I got the shock of my life.... mega serial effect.. What ? What ? What?. £$%#### ... The question paper was for English paper 2.... அப்போ grammar questions.. essay.. precise writing..comprehension writing.. இதெல்லாம் எழுதனுமா.... what about my algebra .. trignometry and geometry....
I turned around and asked the girl sitting behind me- ' Today maths exam right !'..She replied- 'Hey today English 2 and tomorrow maths' . Then I realised .. oh The girl gave me a weird look and asked whether I have prepared for maths. I said Yes . 'Lucky You', she remarked. To learn once for an exam is a crime and I have to do it twice. ...
The girl behind me gave me a quote of her own equivalent or more than a Zen thought - You should be happy that it was a grammar paper and you studied maths... imagine if it was otherwise !!
Anyways her statement haunts me even now... I get dreams of going for a exam and get a maths question paper...and time runs out.. I am unable to complete my paper etc.etc.....
PS: Don't ask me how much I scored in both the papers... You get what you get !!

My guess..You would have scored more in Eng-2 than in Maths :) Is that right? :)
